Ultimate: SFI West

Traffic goes to Burlington for SFI West.
Short and Sour
This previous weekend we took a thin squad of 18 to Burlington for SFI West where we played a couple regional rivals. Our first game was a luxurious 10:45am start, where we played Hucklebears from Victoria, followed by a game against Kelp from Colorado. We won both and then were into the bracket for Sunday.
The next day we had a rematch against FAB from the Bay Area, and then Wildfire from San Diego, where in the finals we lost to Dark Sky of Utah 7-9 (!).
Obviously not ideal results for us as we were the first seed going into the tournament. I think a smaller roster, a large percentage of newer players, and a bit of wind really got us on the wrong foot starting out and we struggled to recover. Our friends and families and three fans will be wondering what happened but sometimes you really just don't play well. Kudos to Dark Sky who played a tough game and had some great grabs.
That's it for Traffic tournaments, but we have a big TCW tournament coming up next weekend in beautiful Denver. Personally I'm feeling healthy, not wealthy, but ready to gallop around in the thin mountain air.

Trip Report: Brew Mountain
All summer long I have tried to convince my friends that Brew Mountain would be a cute and fun hike, and all summer long my friends have cruelly not agreed to go hike it with me.
